Lane County Atlas

The Lane Breeding Bird Atlas Project collected data from 1983 through 1986, and was coordinated by Steve Gordon and Herb Wisner. It is a project distinct from the Oregon Breeding Bird Atlas project. Results have not previously been published but are included here because, like the statewide atlas, they are the product of surveys by many volunteers who covered a large geographic area. However, only 21% of the 563 units in the county were inventoried, and those were not a statistical sample. The results have not been rigorously quality-checked nor published previously. Methods and breeding codes were mostly the same at those used by the statewide atlas project. The unit (cell) that was used is a rectangle of 3.2 by 2.9 miles, representing a subdivision of a USGS topographic quadrangle map (3.75' longitude by 2.5' latitude).
